Hello, this is Pao.
Today’s recipe is a “set-it-and-forget-it” dish made in a rice cooker—perfect for busy days!
This rich and flavorful make-ahead main dish features in-season new potatoes and chicken drumettes. It pairs perfectly with rice!

Since it can be prepared in advance, it’s great for lunch boxes or spring break meals too!
Ingredients (Serves 3–4)
8–9 chicken drumettes
2 new potatoes (about 350g)
Seasoning (*)
Soy sauce… 2½ tbsp
Sake… 2 tbsp
Mirin… 2 tbsp
Vinegar… 2 tbsp
Sugar… 1 tbsp
Doubanjiang (chili bean paste)… ½ tsp
Garlic (grated)… 1 clove
Ginger(grated)… 1 clove
Water… 150ml
Instructions
1.Cut along the bone of each drumette with scissors, poke holes for flavor, and cut washed new potatoes into chunks with skin on.

2.Add all seasonings to the rice cooker, place drumettes, then add potato chunks cut-side down, pressing them into the sauce.

3.Start the rice cooker on its regular cooking mode. Once it finishes, the dish is done!

Let it sit for a little while in the cooker to allow the flavors to soak into the potatoes.
The best part—new potatoes can be enjoyed with the skins on!
